Saving a dime…

imgphp.jpgI had to run out last night to get more coffee for the house as we were down to the last bit of the previous pound. One of the local store chains (not my preferred Starbucks) has a daily trivia question where if you answer correctly, you can save a dime off the total bill. Anyway, the question yesterday was “What is the shortest complete sentence in English?”

I’m happy to report that I gave the correct answer, “I am”, without being struck by lightning or any other form of divine retribution. But the coffee is so-so.

Perhaps that’s why the coffee was so-so.

“I am” was the correct answer? Oh, I don’t know about that! How about “Run!”? Or even better, “Go!” ;-)

  3. Perhaps that’s why the coffee was so-so.

Yes, and for someone who needs his coffee in the morning, desolate beans are not a happy thing!

Oh, I don’t know about that! How about “Run!”? Or even better, “Go!”

I think I mistyped the question… it should have been “What is the shortest complete sentence in English?” Subject+verb…

  4. My experience has been that Caribou is excellent. Maybe your particular shop is an aberration. Have you tried Dunn Bros? My favorite!

I say you know you have a good cup of coffee when it tastes even better than it smells!

  5. Welcome back to blogdom, Gary! The coffee’s actually not bad (Mocha Java Blend) … in fact, my wife likes it and we rarely like the same coffee. I like Dunn Bros too. My wife doesn’t like their roast, but I do – good stuff! It’s just that I was raised on Starbucks before it was ultrahip and brand allegiance goes a long way…

Coffee taste is highly underrated. My question to the people behind the counter is “how does it feel?” If they look at me blankly, I move on…
