I had previously commented on my search for an everyday TNIV edition; in response, several folks mentioned the Large Print TNIV editions available directly from IBS (instead of Zondervan). The edition is available in three formats:
However, none of the IBS product pages above feature a page sample, so I was unable to determine the page layout or text size. As such, I emailed IBS in hopes that they might at least be able to tell me the font size and/or compare it to the other TNIV offerings.
To my surprise, this afternoon I received an email from IBS in response to that question. According to Traci in Customer Service, the font size is “about 10 point”; she also attached a photocopy or scan of the page layout (showing 2 Chronicles 34:32-36:1):

This is the TNIV edition that I use. The large print from IBS is easy on my eyes.
Thanks, Wayne. I compared the text coverage for the sample pages provided – one page of the IBS edition is approximately 60% of one page of the Zondervan edition, so the page counts make sense (1872 for IBS vs. 1170 for Zondervan).
The Zondervan copy is about 1 1/2″ thick with minimal bleedthrough. Is the IBS edition a thicker Bible or have they gone with thin paper?
i have found the whole tniv bible in pdf format from a website whose link i have forgotten. but i can email you the pdf if you like.

Anthony,
Thanks for the offer – I have the TNIV PDF from IBS; I’m assuming that’s what you’re referring to.
There’s also a 16-point TNIV available from the UK ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0340863668 ). The pages do show some bleedthrough, but it’s still very readable. Mine was around $65 US for a hardcover. I’ve urged the IBS several times to carry this size.
