Out of random curiosity and partial boredom at work, I’m interested to see if there’s any correlation between the so-measured “Blog Reading Level” of your blog and your preference of Bible translation. That is, do we tend to write our blogs at a level that is consistent with the text level of the Bibles we prefer to read?
As my previous post indicates, this blog has been measured at a “Genius” level. After considerable searching among translation versions, I’ve gone back (for the time being) to a combination of the NASB (formal) and the REB (functional), both translations with fairly high reading levels if I recall correctly.
So first, if you haven’t already, use this online tool to determine your blog’s “Reading Level”. Then, use one of the following links to determine the reading level of your preferred translation:

Finally, respond to this post with your blog’s reading level score, the translation you prefer and the translation’s reading level if you were able to find it. I have no idea if there is any correlation, but it will be interesting to see what everyone comes up with!

My blog rated at “College Post-Grad”, and my preferred translations are the NASB and TNIV.
I made the point on my blog, I think, that maybe the reason I tend to use longer words and more complex sentence structure was due to long hours studying Paul’s letters in the NASB.
Recently I have been using these two translations almost side-by-side; the NASB for its faithfulness in translating accurately, and the TNIV for it’s clarity and ease of understanding. The two together are a great help to me.
As I think you already know, my blog is rated as high school reading level, and my favourite translation is TNIV.

My preferred translation (of this year) is ESV, which is rated 10th grade by Christianbook.com.

I found the same thing. My blog was rated ungrad but my posts got a rating of Genius. However the interviews got a rating of High School. I’m not sure the tool really works that well I’d assume most blogs are highly non uniform in their complexity of language unless the author is actively trying to hold complexity down.
