DMHO survived their “white funk” performance on The Next Great American Band to play again, this time a rendition of “I’m Free” by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (it was a Rolling Stones “theme week” – all the bands played songs written by the Stones).
It was a solid performance, but the judges clearly now want them to stay in a more blues-focused style rather than jumping around in somewhat different styles each week. It’ll be interesting to see if a tight swing band can get darker, edgier, bluesier and do it consistently (or if they even want to).
Interesting to also note that the band has had to already postpone or cancel tour dates in late November and early December as they continue to survive elimination on the show.
