Friends of HiS

WordPress has been making some enhancements to their online blog stats reporting. One new thing is the ability to go back and tally up who has been referring people to this blog, e.g. where visitors are coming from.

It hasn’t been quite a year of blogging for me yet, but here’s the top ten friends of HiS (He is Sufficient):

Rank Referrer #Links
1 englishbibles.blogspot.com 459
2 tnivtruth.blogspot.com 182
3 afriendofchrist.blogspot.com 130
4 homepage.mac.com/rmansfield/thislamp/… 122
5 jamesbradfordpate.blogspot.com 120
6 4-14.org.uk/thats-my-king-s-m-lockrid… 119
7 tcconnecting.blogspot.com 117
8 jmarkbertrand.typepad.com/bibledesign… 95
9 wordalone.blogspot.com 81
10 weirdthinkers.wordpress.com 67

Just missing out of the top 10 were John Hobbins and Iyov. I will note that I edited out blog reader services, e.g. Google and Bloglines, and tag referrals through WordPress.

Thank you to everyone on this list and to everyone who has found something worthwhile here!

Cool, I made the Top Ten list! My blog is fairly new so that is very cool.

ElShaddai, you have a lot good stuff to read, I check your blog everyday! Keep it up!

  2. [...] by Bryan on February 8, 2008 Elshaddai Edwards linked to the top 10 blogs that have brought people to his blog, so I thought I would do the same. [...]

  3. Steve says:

I’m sorry to have failed you, ElShaddai. If anyone ever visited mine (and I honestly don’t know why they should), it might help you out some :)

Are you using WordPress.com or the WordPress software? If the former, how are you finding these stats?

  4. WordPress.com — http://wordpress.com/blog/2008/02/08/summarize-more/

Click on your Blog Stats tab of the Dashboard, then the “Referrers” link on the left side. They’ve just added “Summarize” options for 7 Days, 30 Days, Quarter, Year and All Time.

  5. @Robert: lol, I hope those 67 referrals aren’t just you! Thanks for the support and comments – I do appreciate it!

  6. Steve says:

    Found it — thanks!

  7. Kevin Sam says:

Wow, I’m surprised I made your top ten. I had no idea so many were linking from my blog. It sounds like the move to WordPress was a good thing. I’m thinking about making the switch to WordPress too.

  8. Robert says:

Yeah me either, but I have you booked marked.

  9. tc says:

Well, it’s cool to be at the significant #7, which is the complete number in Scripture.
