In case you missed the updates I appended to the original post on a functional ANE perspective of Genesis 1, John Hobbins wrote a rebuttal to Dr. Walton’s position that “Genesis 1 is concerned only with the assignment of functions to things” and is “not concerned with the formational history of the things of which the universe is made.”
Dr. Walton has now been kind enough to provide a significant reply, which John has also posted.
