Jeff, I never liked the similar Unsleepable theme in WP.com, but I do like the modifications you've done on your site - especially this last round of changes. It's very readable and a good balance of typesetting.

I think I might have improved things a little by swapping all the widgets over in the sidebars, and removing the top widget container. And if both sidebars were placed on the right, which appears to be the starting position it would solve it completely -- all done through the theme options. But I prefer the look of sidebars balanced either side.

The Neoclassical theme does look pretty good. I may pop it onto my test-blog and see if I can achieve what I want with it. Like you, I don't mind altering the CSS if it's needed. Cheers for that.

I shall follow this topic with extra interest to see what others may suggest as possibilities.

Thanks, Paul - I had been wondering what the 3-column Mandigo looked like - I didn't realize you were using it.

I've been rather taken with Neoclassical as a 3-column theme with rotating header images like Mandigo. It's one of the few that seems to have really well balanced typographical elements. I don't mind editing the CSS file to get "the right look", but if it's good from the start...

Interestingly, I've been looking today for a new theme. A friend accessed my blog on a slightly slower connection, and the sidebars bounced noticeably into place -- which was a bit disconcerting. But I'm undecided what to do for the best. I've been using Mandigo. It's packed full of options which is good, but maybe that's the problem too.

How about k2? That's a nice theme?!? I'm sooooooooooooo jealous. Maybe when I'm rich like you... Why not just host your blog on Blogger. You can do a lot of neat stuff on those blogs.
