Jeff has challenged us to Wordle our blogs as a way of visually seeing what we write about. Essentially the Wordle Java application parses your text and creates an image of the words you use, with the more frequent words represented in a larger font size.
So without further explanation, here is my blog’s Wordle (created from my RSS feed to avoid sidebar text and links from distorting my actual blog content).
Pretty much what I’d expect for a blog that primarily discusses Bible translation… this is, after all, a wilderness of words.

Thanks for taking the challenge. I think it’s a good thing to do whether or not people post them publicly.
Nice description of what Wordle is.
Jeff
I’ve seen the Wordle images on a number of blogs now, but never explored it further - it’s an interesting exercise. Thanks for the challenge!
I couldn’t help noticing that the ESV dominates. Hmm…
Hey now.
Well!
…not to mention a wilderness of changing blog designs! Most of the time I’m reading your blog in my feed reader, but I have to check in time to time to see what the new design looks like!
Ha ha ha, Greg. It doesn’t help that I moved to my own hosted environment and now have a bazillion more theme choices. Fortunately, most of them leave much to be desired, so it really boils down to identifying a handful of really good designers and picking one of their products.
I like this one, but it still feels a little cluttered to me, so I’ll keep looking and/or will be doing some custom development work.
How do you get a full RSS of your blog? I have close to 1000 posts so that might be a big file…
I just entered the feed address (http://heissufficient.net/feed/) here - I think it might only pull the last 10 posts, but I’m not sure. I also adjusted mine to use 500 words instead of the default (150 or 250, I think).
P.S. Good to see you around again here and there. Please accept my sympathy and prayers for your family.
Well that was good. Lots of stuff about churches, membership… I guess I’m a bit overweight on the grammar issue but in all fairness my blog has been overweight on that lately.
I will say though that the program seems to weigh first post much too heavily. I tried it posted a new article then tried it again.
